“Young Adult Program”

7th to 12th grade

This class is offered on the first Monday of each month from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The program will be different each month. You will do some sort of volunteering at each program, so you will be able to list “volunteering at your local library”, as a community service on your work and college applications.
Some things we will do: collect food for the Hope Center, make crafts for someone or for use at the library, and this fall we will make wreaths and center pieces. Come have fun with your friends and earn community volunteer hours!

No program will be held in January, April or September 2019

“Page Turners Book Discussion”

Next discussion will be Monday July 8th and we will be discussing Karin Slaughter’s  book “Cop Town”

Karin delivers her first stand-alone novel: an epic story of a city in the midst of seismic upheaval, a vicious murder, and a divided police force tasked with bringing a killer to justice. Atlanta, 1974: As a brutal killing and a furious manhunt rock the city’s police department, Kate Murphy wonders if her first day on the job will also be her last. She’s determined to defy her privileged background by making her own way–wearing a badge and carrying a gun. But for a beautiful young woman, life will be anything but easy in the macho world of the Atlanta PD, where even the female cops have little mercy for rookies. It’s also the worst day possible to start given that a beloved cop has been gunned down, his brothers in blue are out for blood, and the city is on the edge of war. …

Pick up a copy of the book today and join us on July 8th!

We meet the 2nd Monday of the month from 7:00–? PM. We discuss a book each month and receive a new book for the following month’s discussion + have a small snack.
